The Director of Religious Education oversees the religious education program as well as the affiliated sacrament preparation programs of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist. These programs are served by capable, dedicated volunteer catechists (witnesses). The parish encourages ongoing education and certification of catechists and staff through parish workshops, diocesan programs and theology seminars.
Every parish volunteer who ministers directly with children must attend an interview with the Director of Religiouos Education. Attend the Diocesan Workshop on Protecting God’s Children. Each volunteer is subject to a background check which follows the Diocesan policies regarding the protecting of children in the parish program of religious education. The parish offers a small stipend to the catechist who volunteers in our parish program.
The director is assisted in the religious education office by an administrative assistant and parent volunteers.
