The Religious Education Program depends upon the generosity of parents and other parish members to assist us in this program. We cannot accomplish our goals without the valuable assistance of many individuals. We ask each family to consider an area in which they can volunteer their services. As many of us know, our greatest treasure is the parish catechist and it is often our greatest need. Being a parish catechist is not a lifetime commitment; there are times when we need replacements. Please make every effort to assist the religious education program. Prayerfully consider one of these areas of service: Parish Catechist: A person who meets 12-18 students once a week from September through May. The catechist shares faith using a planned and guided program of instruction. Substitute Catechist: A person who cannot commit to the weekly class but is willing to step in when the regular catechist is absent. Material, books and a lesson plan is provided. Classroom aide: Parent/high school students are need in this area. Our catechists in Kindergarten through 3 rd grade level appreciate the assistance of another pair of hands during their class time. Class Telephone Contact Person: This person serves as a link between the Catechist, the religious education office and parents. A service of communication, notification by phone in case of emergency closings. Etc. Class Parent: Assists the catechist when planning a celebration for the class, helps to provide a small snack. Religious Education Office Volunteer: A person who serves as an assistant in the office during the scheduled class time. E.g. answering the phone, monitoring the door and other duties as needed. Assisgnments are done on a rotating basis. Parish Coffees: The religious education program hosts the monthly parish coffees and people are needed to set up and clean up after this event. The coffee is held following the 10:00 am. on a monthly schedule. |
