Program Catechists PDF Print E-mail

The catechists who minister in the religious education program are persons of faith who desire to share that faith with the young people of our parish community. Each catechist is called to model the Catholic faith to children as a way to serve God, the Church and others. Each catechist is asked to continue ongoing development in the faith. The Archdiocese and parish offer opportunities for ongoing formation through workshops and courses in catechists, theology, and scripture throughout the year.

The requirements for the parish catechists are:

1. Interview with the Director of Religious Education;

2. Attend the workshop entitled:  “Protecting God’s Children”;

3. Submit information for background screening;

4. Read  the guidelines from the Archdiocese for Protecting God’s Children and the code of conduct for a parish volunteer;

5. Attend meetings with the Director of Religious Education, when scheduled.
