MAY BLESSINGS IN PRE K 3 ! ! ! O.L.M.C. 2010 Mrs. Clifford We . . . worked on our Weekly Readers on how plants grow, recycling, how the sun helps us and staying safe in the summer ... finished learning all the letters of the alphabet ... practiced for our special morning with our moms ... enjoyed our reading buddies ... shared all the toys on the playground and ate ice pops – they were soooo good! ... had our special Mommy and Me in PreK 3 Hour ... we greeted our moms with a tissue paper flower ... sang songs about how much we love them, made and gave each of our moms Memory Boxes with a poem and a book about The Top Ten Reasons why we love them ... We each got up and said in front of everyone one reason we love them, and we served them punch and cookies. It was a loving Mother’s Day treat!!! ... walked in the school Walk-A-Thon ... our sweet potato plant is growing so much, it has white roots and green and purple leaves all over it!! ... filled in our chart about the butterflies making chrysalis ... and moved them to the butterfly house where we watched a butterfly actually come out of its chrysalis ... we finished our butterfly books and set our butterflies free with a prayer and a song – they didn’t want to leave the cage and we were sad to say goodbye!!! Butterfly, butterfly fly away ... worked on our Clifford books about summer safety and growing a sunflower ... and garden vegetables ... worked on things that go together and rhyming words ... played alphabet bingo ... celebrated Benjamin’s birthday with a great dinosaur cake, fun games and great goody bags!!! Thank you Mrs. Otero for a fun morning ... thanked Jesus for our friends ... celebrated Abigail’s birthday by making our own ice cream sundaes ... colored a picture to go in our yearbook pictures ... each received a Super Star Award for a great year of leader Show and Tell days ... welcomed Madison’s new baby sister, Lexie!!! ... sang in our school Sping Concert!!! We were really great and everyone was so proud of us!!! It was a loving month for us!!! JUNE GOODBYESWe . . . are so sad our PreK 3 year is almost over!!! Mrs. Clifford and Mrs. S are really going to miss us and we will all miss each other!!! ... we practiced hard for our Graduation – Our Months in PreK ... celebrated Kaitlyn’s birthday with a pizza, a clown who made us great balloons, a pinata and stuffed animal goody bags!! Thank you Kaitlyn’s mom and grandma for such a fantastic morning!! ... had a party with our reading buddies – we will miss them! ... brought home all our things ... IT WAS A GREAT YEAR FOR US ALL !!! PreK 3 O.L.M.C. 2010 Mrs. Clifford April was a warm month for us!!! We . . missed each other during our Spring recess!!!...celebrated Mrs. S. Birthday with ice cream cups!!! were so happy to be back after our Spring vacation!!!...made our own ice cream sundaes to celebrate Ronald’s birthday – thank you Mrs. Presta for a fun party!!!...colored April flowers bring May flowers mobiles and they look so nice hanging in our classroom!!! – Mrs. Clifford is really proud of how well we have learned to color!!!...Mrs. Clifford painted our hand – it tickled!! – and we made a class handprint umbrella...played outside on the playground and had ice pops when we came in...read with our reading buddies...we are almost at the end of learning all the alphabet letters...sang goodbye to March and hello to April...talked about Jesus and friends...put an X on our favorite things to eat and do on our Religion paper-we are following a lot of directions!!!...followed paths and tried our best to stay in the line...worked on our Clifford booklets about caterpillars...painted Spring robins, eggs and nests...made beautiful mosaic butterflies...played in our class sandbox and we are sharing the sand toys...missed our friend Abigail when she went on vacation to DisneyWorld and we were really happy to have her back with us when she came home!!!...used a golf ball to paint kites-it was a lot of fun rolling the ball around the box and making so many different designs...colored kite bows to match our kites...did our Weekly Reader on keeping the earth clean and to recycle and throw things in the garbage...thanked God for our eyes that help us see...colored butterflies...our caterpillars finally came – we were soooo excited!!!...are making our own chart to show all the changes as they grow...Benjamin and his mom made us delicious chocolate chip cookies for a special snack – Thank You Benjamin and Mrs. Otero for thinking of us!!!...are practicing very, very hard for our Mommy and Me in PreK 3 morning!!!...we can’t wait to tell our moms how much we love them!!!...Natalya brought in great munchkins as a special treat!!! Thank you Natalya and Mrs. Vega – we loved them!!!...did our Weekly Reader all about ladybugs and then we made our own ladybugs...It was a great month in PreK 3!!!! Mrs. Clifford Mrs. S. MARCH ROARS IN LIKE A LION ! ! ! ! Pre K 3 - O.L.M.C. 2010 Mrs. Clifford What A Busy Month For Us ! ! ! ! WE . . . sang goodbye to February and welcomed march and all our new monthly activities ... traced our handprints and made March lions – ROAR! ... had fun making and “eating” our fruit loops rainbow and pot of gold pictures ... went to first grade and watched a cute play about animals and then we sang our leprechaun song for them!!! ... it was fun!!! ... made booklets about all the different places we can pray and drew ourselves in the picture ... had fun reading books with our reading buddies ... decorated cups to look like a leprechaun and we each planted some seeds in dirt and grew hair for our Lucky Leprechaun shamrock people ... made beautiful stained “glass” crosses ... were detectives and searched for 10 things that were wrong in the zoo ... talked about different pictures of what kinds of fun things families do together like bike riding ... searched in our Clifford booklets for all the leprechauns that were hiding in, out, around and so many other places ... colored spring robins for our class tree ... made Easter Bunny wind socks ... talked about frogs in our books ... made delicious Irish Soda bread with Mrs. Bailey and Mrs. Presta and we each got to bring a piece home!!! ,,, Thank you moms for all your help – it was fun!!! ... made Irish hats ... we’re soooo happy to sing goodbye to Winter and hello to Spring ... colored beautiful Thank You Jesus for Spring crosses – Mrs. Clifford is really proud of how nice we are coloring!!! ... made Easter Bunny wreaths ... Mrs. Cho came in and played the flute and the piccolo for us and we sang songs to her beautiful music – thank you Mrs. Cho – it was great and we hope she comes back again!!! ... made Easter prayer booklets and colored a big Easter egg ... decorated baskets for our egg hunt ... we had a wonderful warm Easter party inside even if it was cold and rainy outside!!! ... Mrs. Cho came back – yeah!!! - and we sang songs for Ms. Coz and our families about Easter and Spring!!! ... searched for eggs at our Easter egg hunt and they each had so many fun things inside!!! ... we shared a special breakfast with our families and we all felt very loved and special!!! ... thank you for all your work Mrs. Bailey and Mrs. McGinty to make our Easter party so special!!! ... and thank you Ms. Coz and to all our families for coming and sharing our special morning with us – we love you all!!! ... played outside in our playground ... were so surprised when our classroom door opened and the Easter Bunny walked in!!! ... it was sooooo much fun!!! ... circled 10 eggs hidden in a picture ... FEBRUARY FUN IN PRE-K 3 ! ! Mrs. Clifford O.L.M.C. 2010 It was a warm and loving month for us!!! W E . . . ... celebrated Catholic School Week by greeting our visitors...wore crazy socks and blue and gold to celebrate School Spirit Day...had our own class pajama day – we couldn’t believe we wore our PJs to school!!! - it was so much fun...thanks to our great class moms, Mrs. Bailey and Mrs. McGinty, for the bagels and hot chocolate to help make our day so special!...made a football field with our own football saying why we loved coming to OLMC...had our throats blessed in the church for St. Blaise Day...made groundhog puppets and sang along to our groundhog songs...Samantha even brought in a newspaper article about the groundhog seeing his shadow...made I Love You and Happy Valentines Day cards for our families...worked on patterning and made a pink and red heart wreath for our parents...talked about loving our friends...worked on our Weekly Reader about Abraham Lincoln and George Washington...made Lincoln’s log cabin out of sticks and the shapes we have been learning – we even had a shiny penny for the window!...made Washington’s cherry tree using our thumbprints for the cherries...had fun with our Clifford books about all the different things that are pink and circled Valentine objects in a picture...had 2 snow days...sang Valentine songs...talked about the Winter Olympics in our Weekly Reader – Let the Games Begin!!...exchanged Valentines...Mrs. Clifford sends a loving thanks for all the flowers and candy!!!...we had a loving Valentine’s Day party with red strawberries and delicious cupcakes!!!thank you Mrs. Bailey and Mrs. McGinty for a wonderful morning!!!...Mrs. Presta helped us make two beautiful tissue paper flowers for our moms – thank you Mrs. Presta!!!...had a week off for winter recess and we all missed each other – Mrs. Clifford thinks we all grew over the break!!!...we worked on our Weekly Reader about visiting the dentist and read Barney Visits the Dentist...celebrated Samantha’s birthday with a delicious cupcake – thank you Mrs. Rodriguez for a fun morning!!...colored the Olympic rings and talked about all the different winter sports we are watching!!!...talked about Lent and making good choices...glued pictures about choices following a story Mrs. Clifford read...watched huge snowflakes outside our classroom window and then we had our third snow day!!!...worked on our Clifford booklets about eating healthy foods and brushing our teeth...enjoyed being with our reading buddies again!!!... JANUARY JOYS IN PRE-K 3 MRS. CLIFFORD - OLMC 2010 It was a GREAT month for us!! WE...
...missed each other during Christmas vacation and we were happy to see each other !!!...sang songs about snowmen and cold weather...worked on our Weekly Readers about baby penguins and different ways to go places...made penguins and sang and acted like penguins for a winter song...did our Clifford books about Winter fun and the clothes we wear in winter...read with our reading buddies...celebrated Megans 4th birthday with a delicious cake and great goody bags...thank you Mrs. Passaratti for a fun morniing!! colored in a puzzle that thanked God for us-Mrs. Clifford is so proud of how well we are coloring!!..made 2 prayer booklets thanking God for morning with a prayer and thanking God for night with a night time prayer...are working hard on our numbers and letters and we all know our colors and shapes..circled different pictures and matched pairs...started to grow a sweet potato plant...we put one end in water and we are waiting to see the roots grow...we are making a chart of the changes we will see...sponge painted ice skates..painted two gloves the same to show a pair...working on classifying different objects to the group they belong to...learning how Jesus helped his friends...did a weekly reader about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and we talked about all the different ways we could help each other get along...had fun learning about all the different animals that hibernate in the winter and we all acted like the animals all sleeping!!!...circled different things that were wrong in a skating picture...are following many different directions each day and Mrs. Clifford is so proud of how neat our papers are!!...played color and shape and number bingo and we each won!!...made snowmen...colored thank you God for us puzzle papers...talked about our 5 senses...circled pictures and talked about healthy foods and snacks...made a yearbook paper about our favorite things...circled big and small Sesame Street objects...shared our toys playing in the sandbox... 2010 started out GREAT for us !!! December Joys in Pre-K 3 2009 Mrs. Clifford OLMC
December was full of love, joy and giving in our class!!! We... welcomed a new friend to our class--Alice..we are so glad she is with us!!...set up our class Christmas tree and we each put an ornament and candy cane on it..are singing Christmas songs and we especially like the song about Santa's 8 reindeer...went to Santa's Secret Shop and we bought surprise gifts for our families.. practiced for our debut in our school Christmas Concert-it's fun being on stage!..started 2 Advent calendars..one is waiting for Jesus to be born and the leader of the day opens a number in a manger scene and then the the leader opens our second Advent calendar--waiting for Santa and opens a santa box with a surprise chocolate in it!!..it's fun!!..colored a manger scene and hung them up as mobiles..painted Baby Jesus in his creche...did our weekly reader about holidays..are learning all about Mary, Joseph, Jesus and Bethlehem..made a booklet about Christmas and colored in a star and decorated a birthday cake for Jesus!!..colored cardinals with red glitter crayons for our class tree..sponge painted Christmas stockings..thanked God for our eyes that help us see..celebrated Nevaeh's 4th birthday with delicious cupcakes and great goody bags..Thank you Mrs. Maye and Nevaeh's uncle for a fun morning..sang really well at our school concert!..we were all dressed up and we did a super job singing Santa Claus Is Coming to Town and Happy Birthday Jesus!!..everyone was so proud of us-even though we were a little nervous - once we started to sing it was great!!..thank you Mrs. Vega and Ms. Acevedo and Kaitlyn's grandmother for all the special treats after the show!!..It was fun being stars for the night!!..thank you Mrs. Presta for the munchkins the next day..we enjoyed them!!..watched Elmo Saves Christmas..drew a gift we wanted for Christmas for our yearbook..we shared a wonderful morning with our families!!..we sang Holiday songs, gave our families our pine cone Christmas trees we each painted--they took a long time, but it was fun!!..we told Mrs, Clifford where we wanted each decoration and she hot glued them on!!..we each had a part in our class play, "The Night Baby Jesus Was Born"--we all learned about Baby Jesus!!..we had such a surprise!!..we heard bells ringing outside our classroom and when Mrs. Clifford opened the door, there was a huge red Santa bag and a note from Santa!!..we were so excited!!..Santa wrote that we had been so good he sent an elf to our class and when we opened the bag there was a gift for each of us!!.. we all opened them together and it was really fun!!..we ate pancakes and bagels and lots of other great treats!!..thank you to all our families who came and to our class moms--Mrs. Bailey and Mrs. McGinty for all their hard work!!..celebrated Natalya's birthday with donuts in the shape of a 4..mmm were they good!1..thank you Mrs. Vega for the great goody bags too!!..we had a wonderful time next celebrating Alice's birthday with cupcakes, cookies and goody bags!!..thank you Mr. & Mrs. Kim for a fun time!!..worked on our Clifford book about how we can also give gifts in many ways..made Magic Reindeer food to leave on Christmas Eve..made centerpeices for our parents..found 8 lost Reindeer in a Christmas tree..followed a maze for Santa to try and find Rudolph..we are so sad to say goodbye to our friend Maddox, who is moving to Texas-we are going to miss all the fun and enthusiasm he brought to the classroom. The way he made us laugh, his smile and his zest for learning!!..we love you Maddox and we are going to miss being with you!!..Please keep in touch with us!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!! Thanksgiving Blessings in PreK 3 November, 2009 Mrs. Clifford It was a warm and loving month for us! We . . . welcomed Natalya’s new baby brotherl, Bruno - he is so cute and looks just like his big sister!!! ... made Indian corn and learned what each of the colors mean on the corn ... made a handprint class wreath to say thanks for all of our PreK 3 friends ... missed Maddox when he was out sick and we are glad he is back!! ... also missed Madison, Russell, Ronald and Maddox when they all went on vacations with their families ... sang songs about thanking God and eating turkey ... made booklets about The First Thanksgiving and practiced for our Thanksgiving play ... ate special donuts from Mason’s parents – thank you Mr. and Mrs. Kim – we really enjoyed them! ... colored cornucopias and we hung up our favorite fruits and vegetables on the mobiles ... raised $114.78 for the Mbaani children ... made turkeys and on the feathers we put all the things and people we are thankful for ... celebrated Maddox’s 4th birthday with a great party and delicious treats – thank you Mr. and Mrs. Bui for a fun morning!! ... colored special place mats from Mrs. Bailey for Thanksgiving and ate chocolate cupcakes with turkey rings on them that we could take home !! – thank you Mrs. Bailey ... made Indian vests with our reading buddies and cool Indian headbands for our play ... thanked God for giving us so much and for loving us ... matched pictures about what makes us happy ... made Thanksgiving centerpieces ... played alphabet and number Bingo Breakfast together – we even ate real turkey, mashed potatoes and corn just like the Pilgrims and Indians!!! ... we put on a play about The First Thanksgiving – we dressed as Pilgrims and Indians and, thanks to Mrs. Presta and Ronald’s aunt, we had a great big Mayflower ship!!! ... we sang songs. Thanked our families and gave our parents a Thanksgiving Prayer we made for them – Mrs. Clifford and Mrs. S were soooooo proud of us!!! ... it was a loving morning for us!!! ... did our Clifford books and learned all about turkeys ... did our weekly readers about different animals and what we are thankful for ... celebrated Anthea’s 4th birthday – thank you Mrs. Villarba-Langmaid!!! ... went to the school Thanksgiving Prayer Service and we were really quiet in church ... It was a fun and busy month for us!! We . . . are doing great going to Music, Art and Phys Ed classes . . . were so excited when the fire truck came to school!! . . . the firemen let us sit in the truck and they showed us their fire coats, hats, boots and equipment . . . some of us tried on the coats - they were sooooo heavy and big!! . . . we saw all the things they use to put out fires . . . worked on our Weekly Readers and matched fall objects to the right colors - we are doing good drawing lines!! . . . watched Elmo Visits the Fire House and we enjoyed seeing the inside of the firehouse - we especially liked when Elmo slid down the fire pole! . . . made candy corns . . . had our first school picture taken - we all smiled!!! . . . learned Jesus is our friend . . . worked on our Clifford books about how firefighters work together and we practiced STOP, DROP AND ROLL in case our clothes ever caught on fire . . . practiced creeping low to the ground in case of a fire also . . . are really enjoying our reading buddies . . . worked on our letters D-E-F, numbers 4-5-6, shapes (star, rectangle, heart) and colors (orange, black and brown) . . . loved doing our Weekly Reader on Mingo Meets A Fire Fighter! . . . celebrated Kailyn's 3rd Birthday with delicious M&M cupcakes !! - thank you Mrs. Cho for a great treat!!! . . . played Color and Shape Bingo . . . missed Madison when she went on her family trip to Chicago . . . made spooky ghosts out of our footprint- hope they don't scare you!! . . . welcomed a new friend to our class - Welcome Benjamin to PreK 3!!! . . . made handprint spiders - they look really creepy!! . . . are continuing to learn how to share . . . played Number Bingo and we all had a Bingo!! . . . thanked Jesus for trees, for being happy and being able to jump and stretch . . . worked on our Weekly Reader about how pumpkins grow . . . had our class Pumpkin Patch . . . we read a story about a pumpkin patch and we sang a song about pumpkins as we went outside to find a pumpkin for each of us!! . . . our families came - it was so much fun!! . . . we had a great breakfast, sang songs, and decorated our pumpkins together!! thank you Mrs. McGinty and Mrs. Bailey for a great morning and another big thanks to all of our families for sharing our day!! . . . made creepy handprint spiders, spooky footrpint ghosts, bat clips and pumpkins - thank you Mr. and Mrs. Tarsney for a great snack!! . . . walked in the school Halloween Parade in our costumes - we looked really great!! . . . had a bagel breakfast and a DJ dance party downstairs with some of the other classes - Mrs. Clifford had a lot of fun dancing with us and thought we all looked great in our costumes!! . . . made Halloween mobiles to take home. It was a fun-filled month for us !!!
