ATTENDANCE~ABSENCE~EARLY DISMISSAL~LATE ARRIVAL

All absences and early dismissals need to be reported to the Religious Education Office. When a child is absent, we ask the parents to complete the lesson at home before the student returns to the next religion class. Please note that each child receives a class schedule the first class of the year. Excessive absence can hinder the continuity of religious knowledge taught in any given level.

Early dismissal is done by written note or phone call from the parent. Parents are asked to report to the Religious Education Office to pick up their child. No children are dismissed to the parking lot unsupervised. If the parent does not come into the building to pick up their child, the child is to remain inside the doors until the parent/guardian arrives for pick-up.

Children who arrive late to class are to report to the Religious Education Office and then go to the Classroom.

At the conclusion of the religious education year, parents will be notified regarding any excessive absence. The student will be assigned make-up material that is to be completed and returned to the religious education office.

For example: Number of classes conducted = 28

Absent = 10

We permit a 25% absence; therefore, in this example the child has exceeded the allowable number of seven absences.
